An old heart still beats for a Valentine.

How’s that for a catchy post title?  Okay.  Boo, hiss.  I get it.  I’m still trying. 😀

Recently, I have overwhelmed my YouTube channel with a lot of STUFF.

I am in the process of figuring out a good schedule for tutorial videos in using up all the paper scraps we accumulate in our prolific creative times.  The thought process, right now, is a “Scrap Rehab” video on Tuesday of each week and on Friday a different project each week.  For example, using the scraps of card stock and printed paper to create mini albums.

For those of you who are long supporters in my rambling and often disjointed creative fantasy world here I thank you for suffering through my repetitive posts of cleaning my room and the several posts about cutting up the scrap papers and storing them.

For those of you that are new to this blog, welcome to the insanity. 😀

NOW, I will get into this post properly.  I have a lot, and I mean a LOT, of old style Sizzix dies.

For my Valentine card project for Scrap Rehab, my thought is “Why not bring out that old die and use it?”  This die has four sizes of hearts to cut out.

Instead of laying on four different pieces of 4-1/2 x 5-1/2 sheets of card stock or text weight design paper and making too many hearts you may not use again…..lay on the paper scraps over the die to make the amount you want.

Use your scraps on the die for variety in the die cuts

Your die cuts can be as varied as you would like.  The waste is minimal and you will have reduced your scrap stash in the process.  Look at this.  Beauty from scraps. 😀

I am, also, the proud long time owner of a 1/2 inch hand held “Heart” punch that I’ve had for just as many years as the Sizzix die.

Using my scraps and two sketches from Operation Write Home, numbers 5 & 7, I have made a total of six card fronts.

So, there you have it.  The old Sizzix die has had a chance to see the world outside of the storage box it has lived in for many years.  Plus that poor old hand punch was put to work.  It didn’t want to work very well at first.  Probably a lot of dust and dirt gumming up the works. :/

Now that I am home and able to be more creative I am putting out a “Call For Action”.

What do you want to know about the paper crafting world?  Do you have questions about what to buy, how to use a product.  Leave  your question in the comment section below.  I look forward to your guidance.

Fabulous cards Leslie. I don’t believe anything we have amongst our crafty stash is unusable because we have had it for a while:) We have had problems galore here and thanks to an aggressive neighbouring landowner we are now going through a criminal damage prosecution – the end of 2014 and beginning of 2015 is not being kind to us. As you can imagine it left us very shaky and distressed for a while, no don’t panic neither of were hurt but a considerable part of our garden was destroyed by a digger. It has taken a while to get past the shaky stage 🙂 Just a quick explanation to let you know why I haven’t been around in case you noticed my absence 😀
    Love and hugs

For crying out loud! I figured your absence meant you were in the midst of moving. :/ I’m so sorry to hear of your new troubles at your home. You could write a book about selling a house that would be considered a novel instead of NON-Fiction.

Please know that you are both in my thoughts and in my heart every day as you struggle to get out of that house. You will be more so in my thoughts now that you have a terror in your midst.

      Love you – Leslie
