If it has been five minutes…chances are I’ve forgotten already.

The organizational nightmare of my “STUDIO” is completed.  *falls down on the floor dramatically*

Now it is time to get busy and create something beautiful and fun.

One of my grand daughters is having a birthday in February.  It is high time I remember her special day.  It has been quite a number of years since I last did so and she has just about gone and got herself all grown up :/  I have seen her several times when we would get through Colorado during my truck driving days.  I just never had the time to make her a personalized gift.  No one in my family got anything from me!

While I was out mailing my youngest daughter’s birthday present, the altered cans, I was just a few shop doors down from a local scrapbook store I had not been in for quite a few years.  Time to drop in and see what they have.

Mind you…I don’t have a plan in mind for my granddaughter’s present.  I just figured that “something would come to me”.  After about an hour of perusing the crafting goodies I made my choices and left the store.

It struck me, only after I had put my seat belt on in my car, that I didn’t have any recent photos of my granddaughter :/  So….of course what every good grandmother does.  Go to her Facebook page and “acquire” photos then get them printed at the drug store.  Never mind the disclaimer on the kiosk about having permission to copy the photos.  I’ll just say “Yes” to the question of my validity and ownership of the photos.

I mean, seriously, they will wind up back in her possession come her birthday anyway so what harm am I doing?

One of my purchases was this really cute sheet of stickers made by Momenta.  I’m telling you right now.  I am totally psychotic…..I mean “psychic”.

Sorting through the photos I “acquired”…. I felt it was necessary for me to take photos of the shots I had chosen to go along with the appropriate sticker.  I’ve changed my mind a couple times on some of them.  So what else is new.

I’m going to show you my process and maybe this will help you (or someone new to paper crafting) how to make use of a sticker sheet for your layouts or mini albums.  This mini album is specifically for my granddaughter and will have her personal photos in it.  She will need to do the journaling when I am finished and I will supply her with plenty of places to do just that.

Okay, on to the selection process.

This photo is one of my favorite.  My grandkids and their Dad together.  I love this family and am blessed to have them in my life.

BUT ….. I changed my mind on this.  I want a different one to be the outside cover of her mini album.  So I chose this one to best go with this saying.

Moving right along now.  I don’t know what order these are going to go in the mini album.  I just know these will be the tags for the photos.

My granddaughter is turning into a very beautiful young woman.

Yes, I’m old and I’m square.  I have no idea what “Boy Band” this is.  I just know they are NOT “The Backstreet Boys” nor are they “INSYNC” (I can’t remember if that is how it was spelled :/).

Boy Crazy

There was a back and forth struggle over the next two photos.  So they will be under the same tag.

I don’t know what this function was all about.  All the kids were dressed up in their very best and look fabulous.  There is another photo that goes along with this one.  The other photo is of all of them being good and smiling for the camera.  This one is hilarious with them all making funny faces.

This one made me laugh and I thought the tag would be appropriate 😀

This photo had some “sparkly effects” so I chose this tag for it.

Indeed, this one will work 😀

Her little brother is amazing and he is surrounded by all kinds of love.  This photo will work for this tag.

And then there is another favorite in here.

Love you more than ice cream

My granddaughter was with a group of girls doing something with a Thor type hammer.  I don’t know what it is they are up to.  But I think chocolate might have had something to do with it.

Give me chocolate!

The rest of the stickers will be used throughout the mini album.  I’ll have more on my paper choices and how I’m putting the book together as I get this thing started.

Stay tuned to see how this is going to come together 😀  I hope this has been a useful tip for you when selecting stickers or tags to go with your photos.

Wow, this is going to be great! I think the pic of your grandson with the wig on needs to go on the same page as the “not part of my Cinderella fantasy” sticker! Have fun playing in your new room!

I am having a total blast! I’m already over grossing the binder I bought for this project :/ And I’m not quite finished yet 😀 It feels so good to be creative once again.

Love you my friend – Leslie

Fantastic gift I bet she will love it, all the more with all your heart in it. I think the boy band may be One Direction that is the group that gets my girls all giggly and gaga faced 🙂 Congratulations on getting your room all finished I am so jealous !! I need to get my butt in gear and work on little spurts on cleaning off my desk at least 🙂 Can’t wait to see your special gift all completed.
    Love and hugs,
    Shelly

How is your father doing? How long will he be away from home at the care center? I hope he is not in too much pain after his knee surgery. I hope your family is all well now that the weather has decided to calm down a bit.

Shelly, I’m having so much fun in my craft room. Being able to freely create once again. Getting back in touch with my creative spirit has been amazing. Thanks for your kind words. You’ll get to your craft space soon. Maybe the thought of school being over for the year in just a few short months and having the kids around full time will be enough to spur you on :/

      Love you – Leslie
