I was able to get two cards out of the papers I used yesterday. This is the Operation Write Home sketch #53 from April of 2011. The sketches are on their site for anyone to use at anytime and for anyone – not just for the military.

I don’t fancy myself a card maker so any help I can get for layout and proportions I take full advantage of. How long does it take you to make a card? Me, it seems to take forever with all the fussing I do in getting things aligned and straight, although I don’t manage to do that well sometimes.
Tomorrow is Christmas Day. Yippy Skippy! I hope you all are enjoying the holiday so far.

You are doing well with your card making Leslie and I love the blue and brown combination here. How long it takes me to make a card depends upon the complexity of the fold or stamped image and how inspired I feel with the one I have decided to make!! For example I have some ATCs to make for a swap with the theme of metallic and I have been putting those little cards off for ages because an idea just wouldn’t swim to the surface but suddenly an idea popped into my head and I have got the bits together and they will take a very short time to put together. As you know I rarely use backing papers but rely on stamped images as focal points so I may stamp out various images, colour them in and then suddenly feel inspired to use them in a certain way and before I know it I have made a batch of cards!! I hate making cards to deadlines though and those can take me a long time to do and be totally unsatisfactory to me. There are times when I think heck this isn’t coming together, so I’ll buy a card to take the pressure off myself – life is just too short and crafting is supposed to be enjoyable 🙂
