Photo card challenge

Have you ever had a great idea then find your tools and supplies work against you? Of course you have.

This is the photo I chose for this challenge.

I cut the photo into one inch squares.

Once I chose the pieces I wanted I mounted them on black card stock.

I couldn’t find a stamp set that was suitable for what I wanted. I did find a set of words by Tim Holts that I thought I could use.

This is my finished card. I had a lot of help with the balance on this piece from my husband. The glitter was a last resort because I just couldn’t figure out what to do with the open side areas on the front.

Hopefully the next one will be easier :-). Have fun with this challenge. Do whatever you want with your photos and color selections. Just give this a try.

I like it and I think the sentiment is appropriate 🙂

Thank you for your sweet comment. I appreciate you stopping by my blog.

I so love your stained glass creations. I took a class about 19 years ago and enjoyed it. Haven’t done anything since then 😦

Thank you Jann :-). I’m working on being less skittish of glitter. I’ll get there.

I have to go check your blog to see if you’ve added something new and gorgeous 🙂

A truly beautiful card, love the effect you created with cutting the photo up and mounting on dark cardstock – looks as if we are looking through a window. Love the way you finished the card with a nice sentiment and bling in the shape of glitter 🙂 Just lovely

      Thank you Lynn.

I’ve done a few scrapbook layouts using that technique and I really liked it then.

What are you guys up to? Weather settling down? I’ve got to go to Shelly’s blog to see how their trip to the zoo went.

      Love you – Leslie

The weather has acted in true British style – it is a Bank Holiday weekend so it has rained! And this weekend is longer than usual as the queen is having her diamond jubilee celebrations. 60 years of paying to keep her and her family in the state to which they have become accustomed LOL

What have I been up to? Well suffering mostly, as I mentioned on your other blog, with raging toothache, very swollen face and pain radiating into my ear, nose, eye socket and lower jaw and neck glands swollen as it fights an infection. Not pleasant! Hoping our dentist can see me tomorrow for a course of antibiotics to clear up the infection. There was only one emergency dentist operating over the long holiday weekend in the whole county and they were fully booked.

I did do some crafting on Saturday before the pain built up too bad – a small divided box to hold gift tags. I will take some photos 🙂

        Love and hugs

Holy Cow!! Your pain riddled face and jaw. I’m so sorry to hear how badly you hurt. I bet the rainy weather didn’t help either.

Do you think all the emergency dental visits were due to you and your fellow countrymen gritting your teeth over the Jubilee? Sorry, I should not have said that 😦

I look forward to seeing your creation on your blog after you have started to feel better.

        Love you – Leslie

    Your card turned out wonderfully.
That is such a gorgeous photo.
My SIL did this same technique on a 12×12 layout. Lots of little squares to keep track of, teehee.
