The SU fracas is over

I had to hold my tongue and censor my fingers πŸ™‚ when I sent this email to SU.

Dear Libby:

I am in receipt of your cease and desist email sent to leslieb@messageinafold.com – another of my email accounts.

Please check your records. I have not been a SU Demo in well over a year. I’m sure this is a form letter that gets sent out to “wayward” Demos and does not apply to me.

I use SUand other manufacturer products in my paper crafting. All products, tools, and supplies used in my paper crafting are referenced by manufacturer or where purchased when I create a blog post about an item I made. I will continue to do so.

Once again, please check your records. I hope this matter is only a mistake and not something to be concerned about.

Sincerely,

Leslie Bockenstette

This is the response I received back. It is all good, for now.

Leslie,

I am so sorry for the mix up, that was a complete oversight on my part. I appreciate you pointing this out to me. You are correct, as you are no longer a demonstrator, you are not under any contract that holds you to our competitive activities policies.

We try to be much more thorough and accurate in these types of situations, and I feel awful that I missed that, and sent you this letter. I hope you accept my sincere apologies in this situation. If we can help you with anything else please let us know.

Sincerely,

Libby Slem

I guess I can live another day knowing that my fame is spreading far and wide because I have my first “enemy”.

Whomever you are, please know that the world is full of wonderful people that bump into me in one way or another. You are included in touching my life whether you know it or not.

Now. Everyone go have a creative day πŸ™‚

Leslie

That was a very restrained email you sent Leslie πŸ™‚ I think I would have been tempted to be rude especially as someone didn’t do their job properly however she came with a very nice apologetic email. Think you kissed your chance to stress how distressing this was and how upset you were and you could only get over this hole issue if SU sent you some free products πŸ˜€ Always worth a try LOL

So glad you got this sorted!

    Love and hugs
    Lynn xx

You really should have felt the ground shake all the way over there – “Across the Pond”.

My initial reaction was totally livid. I stomped around. Told Joe that SU was a pack of idiots….and it went downhill from there.

I left it alone and dealt with it the next day in a better frame of mind. Now I must confess, I was just itching for another chance to go off if the issue was pushed further.

So that is that and I’ve thrown one of my famous “Three year old” temper tantrums and got over myself πŸ™‚

Dang. I didn’t even think about free stuff 😦

      Love you – Leslie

You tempered reply led to a humble response. Drama free; case closed.

Now, that wasn’t so hard, WAS IT?!!! Love you!

Thank you. Good thing I didn’t go with my initial reaction. That would have been shameful.

At least I feel good about myself now and the outcome πŸ™‚

Thank you, Maureen, for your support.

      Love you – Leslie

You know I had to go back and read the reason for this post.
Why did someone feel the need to report you anyway?!?
I was thinking of signing up to be a SU demo about a year ago. But this is what stopped me. No one is going to tell me what products I can use on my projects…I don’t think so, lol.
Good for you for handling it with tact πŸ™‚

      Thank you Tracy.

I think it would be hard for anyone who has crafted independently to find themselves restricted in product uses.

I love your work and the wide scope of your creativity.
