Poker photo shoot

Sounds more glamorous than it is.  I’m not the world’s best photographer but I did get some pretty good shots.  Some artistic but mostly fun.  I had a blast, and from the comments after a steak dinner (bribery to get them over) they all had fun as well and are wanting to do it all over again.

Joe….and I think I’m the one that needs all the attention :D….came dressed for the poker shoot.  He tinkled and dinged during play 😀

John Paul came over first.  He was ready and willing to be a part of the evening 😀

Hugh followed several minutes later.  Don’t you just hate it when you get a person’s face in mid blink?

Heather was the last to arrive.

I took over 175 shots of the few hours these guys played.  It was really fun listening to them and watching them.  It was even fun lurking over their shoulders with my camera to get some of the shots.  I bet they were so very glad when I said I was done 😀

Then I went across the table and hovered over John Paul.

I had an opportunity to peek between Joe’s Jester floppy things.  I had to tell him – forcefully – to sit still.  He kept moving about and asking “What are you doing?”

Then Hugh got the same treatment.  See, I was all over everyone.  Breathing down their necks 😀

John Paul was the first to win the pot.  Not a big one but he did get a win in.

Heather won the second pot.  She was so red faced everyone was laughing at how embarrassed she was 😀

Heather won with this hand.  Quite a doozey 😀  Read em’ and weep!

This was Joe’s reaction to seeing the cards Heather laid down.  He thought he had this hand….I guess his face tells the story.  You want to talk about a “Tell” 😀

Hugh won the next pot.  I could not get these three to ham it up for anything.  There was a lot of laughter anyway and that is the most important part.

Things took a turn in the next hand.  John Paul upped the ante and went ALL IN 😀  He was pushing chips to the center 😀

Then Joe decided to do it, too.  He pushed in everything he had 😀  This was a good thing because Tim had asked for some shots of money, a watch, and whatever else.

Joe finally won a pot.  What a ham 😀  Well, I have myself to blame for this because I kept egging the others on to make a big show of it 😀  I’m glad that Joe plays along with my foolishness 😀

After that win Joe had to go out and tend to the barbeque grill and get it heated up for the steaks.  While he was out doing that Hugh, John Paul, and Heather gathered up all the chips and spent a while sorting and stacking them.  The chips were redistributed and when Joe came back in the play began once again.

All in all, we had a great time.  I got a lot of good shots to use on Tim’s Poker holders.  Dinner with our neighbors was great.  Sitting around a table and enjoying good food, laughter, and great conversation.  There is no better thing in life than this.

All I have to say is….”Am I blessed or what?”

Have a great week everyone.

The card hands….that was funny. It started off with some pretty bad hands. John Paul won with a low ranking pair, Hugh won with a straight I think. Hugh said the deck was not shuffled properly the first two times and he was going to really mix things up. He dealt Heather the four Jacks 😀 and gave himself a really bad hand. I tell you, it was a riot 😀

Yes, we do have some great friends. The conversations between Joe and Hugh can get quite intense when the discussions turn to politics or the next controversial thing here. Windows vs Mac 😀 But we always have a great time…mostly because the conversations are not always heated 😀

Thank you Lynn 😀 Love you
      Leslie
