Elements of Style #120045

Elements of Style #120045

It has been quite a long time since I have made cards.  January in fact.

The Elements of Style stamp set was purchased, by me, mainly because of the floral image to do coloring with markers.    And I really like the flourish image and have plans to use it on a scrapbook layout.

The card bases are Crumb Cake (formerly known as Kraft).  The mattes on the flourish card are Basic Gray with the accompanying Basic Gray patterned paper from the Designer Series Pad of Neutrals.  The floral card is backed with a bit of Tempting Turquoise, also from the Designer Series Pad of the Brights Collection.

Hodge Podge Hardware has been used around the “For You” sentiment.

Basic Rhinestones and Basic Pearls have been added to the flourish in the “floral” bits.

2-Way Glue Pen has been used in the larger sections of the image then dusted with Dazzling Diamonds to add a bit of luster.

Certainly Celery 5/8″ Satin Ribbon has been adhered to the larger of the Basic Gray mattes and attached to the back side.  The “bow” is a Cheater that I’ve tried from the tutorials of the Stamp Goddess.

Using a bit of the Turquoise paper to matte the back of the image, I cut a slit, using a craft knife, on each side at the lower stem and threaded some Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon through the slits then tied a bow.

Using a Black Stampin’ Write Marker, faux stitching was done around the outer edge of the card.  The corners were stamped with just the leaf image of the stamp with StazOn Black Ink.

Gorgeous cards Leslie. I adore flourish stamps and this is a super one and you have made it really ‘pop’ with the bling and glitter. What colour inks did you use to stamp the image with?
The turquoise makes a great mat for the second card.
Anyone would be delighted to receive these cards.

Love the humming bird image in the stamps set 🙂

Thank you Lynn. The ink I used is StazOn Black. The reason it looks a bit different on the flourish is because of the glitter that I attached in places.

This stamp set is in our main catalog….I wonder if it is in the UK catalog as well. It would be great if it were and you had access to the set. I know you would do some amazing things with it 🙂
      Love you – Leslie

Just at the moment Leslie I am on a craft stash diet, that is no spending on craft supplies as money is a little tight so I just spend my time drooling all over the keyboard as I see lots of goodies I would love to buy 🙂 The only craft item I have purchased recently was a Woodware Cassette punch handle as a thank you gift to another crafty friend who is very kindly cutting out 150 cupcake wrappers for Jill’s wedding :0 I am so lucky to have a some very good friends 🙂

I suppose you have your hands full helping with the wedding plans and offering your amazing skills for the decorations and other memento items for the big day. Funny how we kid ourselves into thinking there is “plenty of time” to get things done for the event. Before you know it the date is looming closer and the pressure is put on. It is good you have your friends to put a bit of themselves in with all the work. 150 cupcake wrappers, that is quite a number.

I can’t wait for the event and hopefully seeing some photos of your lovely daughter and bits of her special day 🙂
      Love you – Leslie
