Lady’s Night Out

Brought my camera along but left it in my purse 😦 so no pictures of the event.

I had a great time with Charlotte’s friends.  She introduced me around to everyone and told me a little about each person.  The Pastor’s wife was celebrating a birthday so the ladies of the church combined the events.  At Charlotte’s request I created a birthday card for Deedra, the Pastor’s wife, and no I didn’t take a picture of that either.

The “Lady’s Night Out” event is held on one Friday night in January, May, and September.  Time to have fun and enjoy the company of each other for several hours.  There were card games, board games, and something with a timer that required the players to write things down before the timer ended.  Listening to the low murmur of voices and the outburst of laughter added to the fun.

The mix of ages from senior citizen to mid teen was interesting to watch.  The younger women were competitive in their gaming strategies and not afraid to eliminate players.  The older women were a bit more reluctant to be so fierce in playing but would do so when the opportunity arose.

Not knowing what best to do I brought along the January Club offerings to show an assortment of items displayed on a table.  The cards to be created that night were also on display.  Charlotte and I went around the room, before everyone settled in to play games, and let the ladies know they could make cards for the Nursing Home.

Three cards were made during the night and I got to tell a bit about the crafting process and answer some questions.  For my very first foray into actually going “Public” turned out great.  I got to pass out business cards and show my “wares” in an environment that was primed for fun and relaxation.

What a shame there are no pictorial records of your evening – that is the sort of thing I would do, providing of course I remembered to take the darn camera in the first place 🙂
So glad you had a great time though and were able to talk about what you did from a crafty point of view. I think it does you good to get out and about and socialise once in a while, stops you from becoming set in your ways. I’m using ‘you’ here but this not being personal at all I mean it as a general ‘you’ – I think 🙂 I shall confuse that lonely brain cell of mine and that is soooo easy to do.

    Love and hugs

I did have a good time with other people. It is something I seriously need to do on a regular basis instead of staying inside my home all the time. So many things to do here to keep me occupied but it sure does make a body isolated. Always some excuse not to go out. There was a time when any excuse to NOT be home was the days agenda. Maybe it is because I’m gone so much during the rest of the year. I think I need to find a job.

Thank you Lynn, for your words of wisdom. You and your “lonely brain cell” have an awesome day 🙂
      Love you – Leslie

So funny that you didn’t take any pictures! I understand that…especially when you’re new in the group! I’m now taking pictures of EVERYTHING! lol Yes…I think we probably all need to get out more often! I use “we” as the “Royal we” in Lynn’s honour and our close ties to the Royal family & all things British! 🙂 My monthly outing happens tomorrow night with my Splurge Group. I’m wearing a new t-shirt that I recently received in a wonderful RAK. It says, “Scrapbooker’s are ACID free!” Isn’t that cute? There are only so many places one can wear a shirt like that! lol She was hoping I wouldn’t wear it to church! haha At least my Splurge friends will understand it! 🙂
Lynn is so lucky that she’s still got a brain cell left! *sigh* I’m going to spend my day looking for one…or is it possible to develop a new one? Or maybe two…two would be nice! haha
    Have a very happy day!
    Nancy 🙂

I love the sound of your new T-Shirt “Scrapbooker’s are ACID free!”. That sounds like a really fun conversation starter at church :o)

Your Splurge Group sounds like fun. How is your head, my dear friend? I read that you are still having some difficulty with the headaches. I hope you have a great time tonight being out with your new batch of buddies.

You and Lynn with your “one brain cell left”, make me laugh.

      Love you – Leslie

Let’s just say my head isn’t being very cooperative at all! Argh!! We’ve been in a real deep freeze and now a weather change is blowing in…that’s always when it’s the worst! My Splurge is actually tomorrow night, so hopefully I’ll be a bit more “upright”! lol
Love you too Leslie! Thanks for asking!
    Nancy 🙂

I’m so sorry that your head is bothering you worse now with the weather changes. Ooops on the Splurge Night. Here’s hoping that tomorrow your pounding head will stop pounding so you can enjoy yourself. One can only hope anyway.
      Love you – Leslie
